160 WOOSTER, RESIDENTIAL
NEW YORK CITY
160 Wooster is one of a small handful of new residential buildings to rise in Soho since it was designated a National Historic Landmark district 50 years ago. Building the new eight-story structure was the easy part; Tribeach had to first complete a Board of Standards and Appeals Variance Application to change the use to residential and obtain the approval of the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Tribeach also had to work with Department of Environmental Protection and Exxon Mobil in regards to the remediation of a gas spill that predated the acquisition. Located steps away from Soho’s ever-changing mix of diversions — from art galleries to innovative restaurants and sleek fashion houses — the building stands out in the neighborhood with a 14’ attended Lobby, separate service entrance, and common roof deck with direct elevator access.
